Accompanist
Marge is a native of South Carolina, but moved to Georgia in 1976 and has lived here since then. After moving to Eatonton in 1980, she became a member of EFUMC and has played the piano for church at several “fill in” intervals of time over the years. More recently, she has been a pianist here for approximately the past 14 years. Currently, she also participates in singing alto in the Chancel Choir.
She is an active member of the United Methodist Women (UMW) and became publicity chairman for that group several years ago. That position expanded into taking pictures of various church activities which she enjoys. Marge has three children (Ray, Caleb, and Megan) and helped form a childrens’ choir group when her children were in that age range. She served as director for the children choirs for ten years.
Marge attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Francis Marion College in South Carolina, then later returned to school and attained a Masters degree in School Psychology from the University of Georgia in 1980. She began working with the Putnam County School System on a part-time basis that year, then changed to full-time work as a school psychometrist while her children were in school. She “retired” approximately ten years ago, but is currently still working with Putnam County Schools on a contract basis in a part time situation.
Among activities that Marge enjoys are spending time with family (especially with her five grandchildren) and friends; short-trip traveling; listening to music; and playing computer/card/board games.
